School Governing Body
A message from our SGB Chairperson – Carolyn Borchard
Dr Cyril Towlson, a well-loved headmaster of a famous Yorkshire school, penned the
following insightful words:
Isn’t it strange that princes and kings,
And clowns that caper in circus rings
And common folk like you and me,
Are builders for eternity?
To each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass and a book of rules,
And each must make e’er time be flown,
A stumbling block or a stepping stone.
Reflecting upon the reputation of our school and the achievements of our children, I am both proud and privileged to be part of this dynamic team and to be elected to the SGB chair. I have associated with the school for almost five years now and have always found a feeling of “belonging” here. Parents, staff, educators and the SBG all play a pivotal role in the education of our children, especially given the tough economic climate and challenging times we live in! That said, we can be rightfully proud of all that has been achieved to date, thanks to a wonderful head and my predecessors’ dedication and hard work. I thank you for your confidence in my abilities and look forward to continuing this “stepping stone” trend and working with all of you for the good of this wonderful family that APPS is.
